Besides the tendency to make patterns, I’m also drawn to the idea of breaking up the composition and showing things falling apart. This feeling stems from a feeling of fragmentation within me, which I tried to capture by scattering beads around the surface and, in places, allowing them to break apart. This is a way I can portray the emotions that are alive inside me and mirror my internal struggle between wanting everything to be neat and orderly and coming to terms with life’s messiness.
